A seasoned and respected metallurgical engineer well versed in the production and application of steel forgings, but backed by a grounding in other manufacturing industries and substantial experience in engineering insurance, and consensus standards.

Early experience in aero engine production and arc welding electrode development led up to ten years as chief metallurgist with a large UK engineering insurance company followed by over 30 years in steel forging manufacture in Pennsylvania has resulted in unique metallurgical capabilities that may be summarized as follows:

1. Recognizing the importance of design characteristics and surface finish for fatigue service.
2. Place of quality control in product reliability.
3. Metallurgical principles in welding and the significance of hydrogen.
4. The discipline of failure analysis
5. Selection and application of materials and fabrication methods.
6. Exposure to a wide variety of industries including aerospace, petrochemical, paper, foodstuffs, power generation, steel and boiler making.
7. Ongoing, active experience in the writing and revision of national consensus standards.
